Dr. Bernacki joined Orthopedic Specialists & Sports Medicine in 2006. He chose to practice in Licking County due to the increased need in the subspecialty of foot and ankle, and it also being an excellent community to raise his family. He is board-certified in general orthopedic surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He served as chairman in the department of surgery at the Medical Center of Newark from 2009 – 2010. He is a consultant for Kindred Healthcare and provides quarterly joint replacement education classes.
In addition to the above, Dr. Bernacki is now certified to implant the Oxford™unicompartmental knee replacement by Biomet. This minimally invasive partial knee replacement can be performed as an outpatient procedure in order to get you back to your active lifestyle as soon as possible. He also performs all other types of joint replacements, including total hip arthroplasty, total knee arthroplasty, and primary shoulder replacement. Dr. Bernacki thrives to keep patients educated as well as the community and routinely schedules joint replacement talks at his office and other locations.
He was born in Pennsylvania and graduated cum laude from Miami University prior to obtaining his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio. Outside of work, Dr. Bernacki enjoys spending time with his family as well as outdoor recreation, exercising, scuba diving, and traveling.

Please read what others are saying about Dr. Bernacki.
I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Graduated from Bishop Hartley High School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Capital University, where I also played collegiate football. After completing my undergraduate degree, I continued my studies at Marietta College, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Since becoming a Physician Assistant, I have gained experience in emergency medicine and orthopedics. I currently assist Dr.Brad Bernacki in surgery and independently see patients
for their postoperative visits, injections, new problems, and osteoporosis treatments.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter and our bulldogs. I also enjoy spending time boating on the lake and being outdoors.
I am a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants, credentialed by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
I look forward to meeting with you!
